Virtual Objects

The production of virtual objects is another one of our new media services. These images are viewed on a personal computer where users can rotate a virtual copy of an item at any angle or zoom in for a closer look. This ability to interact with such images creates an impression that objects have been transported to the viewer's computer.

We create virtual objects using either a megapixel digital camera or a camcorder connected to a video capture card. Items are photographed on a Kaidan computer automated turntable that can accomodate objects up to 24 inches in diameter. The resulting images are stored in two standard file formats:

  • Live Picture's IVR format
  • Apple Computer's QuickTime VR format

Object size and resolution are optimized for delivery via:

  • Internet
  • CD-ROMs
  • Floppy disks

Some current examples are supplied below. Click on a thumbnail image to view the object.
